About the event
Join amateur Egyptologist David Beeson for an introductory talk on the history of Ancient Eqypt, covering the geography of the Nile Valley, Old World Egypt, the Pyramid Age, the New Kingdom and the Greek and Roman phases.
The talk aims to give attendees a basic knowledge of Ancient Egypt to aid them upon viewing our current exhibition, 'Mysteries of Ancient Egypt'.
The talk will consist of 2 x 45 minute sessions with refreshments included in the interval.
Tickets cost £4.50 per person and include hot drinks and biscuits.
Annual Tickets for Museum of the Iron Age are not valid for this event.
David Beeson David has taught Iron Age Archaeology with Max Dacre and 6 hours course - the Introduction to Ancient Egypt which was open to all. He has also visited Egypt twice - spending 4 weeks in total, exploring many minor sites south of Luxor. He has also written a fictional book on The New Kingdom.
David spent 30 years as Head of Biological Sciences at Cricklade College, plus Training Manager, Projects Manager and Pastoral Manager. He now runs courses for WEA and University of Southampton, plus 200 evening lectures for societies around Hampshire and Wiltshire.
