As we head into the Christmas season, Test Valley will be sprinkled with festive fun. Take look at what’s coming up across town centres in November and December this year:
Christmas Markets
Look forward to shopping for something a little extra special at a town centre market, where local artisan traders will be selling their carefully crafted goods.
A Taste of Christmas Market will be taking place in Romsey on Saturday 7 December, 10am to 6pm. Head to the town centre to fill your stockings with Christmas gifts from a collective of local traders.
Romsey’s regular markets will also be running in the lead up to Christmas, including the Country Market in the Town Hall on the 6, 13 and 20 December and crafters will be attending the Makers Market at Market Place on Sunday 15.
Make sure you stock up on festive goodies at the Hampshire Farmers Market on 1 and 22 December, where you’ll find plenty of fresh produce such as meats, breads, wines and sweet treats available to buy.
In Andover, the eclectic Second Sundays market will be open on 10 November and 8 December. Between 10am and 3pm head to the High Street to shop for quality artisan goods, enjoy street food and listen to the resident vinyl DJ. Each month a different free craft workshop is available, making for a fun afternoon out for all ages to enjoy.
The Chantry Centre’s Indoor Market will also be popping up for some extra dates this year. Local businesses will be selling all sorts of goods from candles to skincare on 2 and 30 November, and every Saturday in December in the lead-up to Christmas.
Christmas Events
Make the most of the local organisations, businesses, shops and performers that we have in Test Valley and have a wonderful time at some festive events.
Andover town centre will be filled with fun at the Andover Christmas Festival, on Friday 22 November, 5pm to 8pm. Featuring fairground rides, three live music stages, children’s entertainment, a festive market, street food and drinks there will be plenty for all ages to enjoy.
As part of the festival, the Christmas Grotto will also open its doors in the Chantry Centre for the first time this year. Children will be able to visit Father Christmas and the Elves on select dates throughout November and December, before they fly back to the North Pole to load up the sleigh and prepare for their busiest time of the year.
Romsey residents can look forward to the Winter Carnival and Lantern Parade on Saturday 16 November. Starting at 6pm, at Crosfied Hall, the evening will feature an amazing spectacle of lights, music, dancing and festive floats.
On Saturday 23 November, 5pm to 8pm, the Romsey Christmas Lights will be switched on. After lighting up the town, the Beggers Fair will take over the evening, with live music to celebrate their 30th year.
