Local Test Valley smallholding, Oaktrack, is delighted to announce that they will once again be joining hundreds of farmers across the country as they open their gates to visitors for farming’s annual open day on Sunday 9th June 2024. The national event, which is managed by the global sustainable farming charity Linking Environment & Farming (LEAF) enables visitors to discover the amazing work farmers do as ‘Guardians of the Earth’ to produce food sustainably, while caring for the environment and wildlife.
The open day being held at Oaktrack as part of this initiative will offer a fantastic opportunity for people of all ages to visit the smallholding. Visitors will get a glimpse into the work the team do to produce food, manage the land healthily and sustainably, and see farming with nature at first hand.
As well as hearing from the Oaktrack team, there will be hands-on interactive farm activities, demonstrations, and a food and drinks market showcasing local producers in the area. A BBQ and refreshments will enable visitors to sample Oaktrack produce and the plant nursery & farm shop will be open throughout the day.
Oaktrack owner Tina Wells said: “The annual LEAF Open Days are a great way for farmers to engage with the public and provide an opportunity for people to learn more about how their food is produced. Oaktrack is looking forward to participating in this national event and welcoming visitors to the farm again. The day promises to be a fun and fascinating day out for all."
